Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are Scone City’s hours?

Monday, Wed – Friday 6:30am to 4pm
Saturday – Sunday 7am to 2pm
Closed Tuesday

2. Why are you closed on Tuesdays?

Jess and Tim Canning have been in the serve industry for many years and most of you know, the majority of restaurants are closed on Mondays.  Frustrated that on their day off their favorite spots were closed, Scone City is open on Monday and closed on Tuesdays as a nod to those who work through the weekend and have Monday off.

3. Do you offer Gluten Free Scones?

Yes, we offer at least one GF flavor each day with more variety on the weekends.  Our baking team uses Cup4Cup as our base GF flour.  For more information please check out the following link:  www.cup4cup.com

4. Do you offer Vegan Scones?

Yes, we offer at least one vegan flavor each day.  Our vegan customers are small but growing therefore we bake off a small number each day.   To replace the dairy, we use soy milk and coconut oil.  If you require a larger number of vegan scones please place a special order at least 1 day in advance.

5. Do you offer non dairy milk?

Of course, we have Almond, Soy, and Coconut milk available every day.

6. Do you deliver?

There are a variety of ways to have scones delivered:

  • Postmates
  • Ubereats

For larger orders to business in the Chicago proper area we use UberRush for a small additional fee.

7. Do you bake smaller scones for special events?

Yes, we bake mini scones that are just about 1/3 the size of our every day scones.  They are available to order in advance in dozens.   We ask that you order your flavors in dozens  – $18/dozen.

8. Is Scone City available to rent out for a private party?

Yes!  Scone City closes early on the weekend to allow for private events in the afternoon.  Please send a note to contact@sconecity.com for more details.

9. Are dogs allowed to come into Scone City?

Dogs are more than welcome on our patio but unfortunately the health department will not allow our four legged friends inside.  Please don’t forget that our doggie scones are a favorite in the neighborhood and 100% of sales are donated to P.A.W.S.  For more details go to www.paws.org

10. Do you sell out every day?

We are thrilled to have such a loyal following within our first year in Wicker Park.  We adjust the number of scones we bake each morning with the intent of having scones from open to close however that doesn’t always happen.  If you have your heart set of a box of scones just place a special order over email (contact@sconecity.com) and we’ll have it ready for you at the shop.

11. When are the scones baked?  Can I keep them for a few days?

We bake fresh scones each morning and they are best enjoyed on the same day.  However, if you must keep them overnight we recommend wrapping them up in plastic wrap and keeping them at room temperature.
